New to the German system? A gesetzliche Krankenkasse is a statutory health insurer, and most people working in Germany are insured with one. These insurers support certified prevention courses, and that applies to expats too. My courses are certified by the ZPP, the central body that vets prevention courses for the insurers. The process is simpler than many think.
Choose a course marked as ZPP-certified. In Berlin or online.
Attend the sessions of the course block. Your insurer sets the required attendance rate.
After the course, you receive your certificate of attendance from me.
Send the certificate to your Krankenkasse. Many insurers refund the fee in full or in part.
Whether and how much your insurer refunds depends on its own rules and your situation. It's best to check with your Krankenkasse directly before the course starts. Prevention courses are a health promotion offer, not therapy, and no substitute for medical advice or treatment.
All the details on reimbursementTeaching
My goal is not that you need my classes forever. It's that you build a practice of your own, one that carries you through everyday life.
You don't just learn movements. You learn what matters in breathing, posture and attention.
Groups stay small enough for questions and personal feedback.
The practice builds step by step. You don't have to prove anything or keep up with anyone.
You take short, realistic exercises home with you. A few minutes a day is enough to start.
The method
Calligraphy Health is a system of Qigong, Neigong and moving meditation, developed by Master Zhen Hua Yang. The name comes from calligraphy. The movements are round, continuous and without hard transitions, like a brushstroke on paper.
Three things carry the practice: a calm breathing rhythm, flowing movement, and attention turned inward. The Chinese tradition speaks of Qi here. In class it stays concrete: feel how you move, and notice what changes.
Understand the method
Your teacher
I have practiced Qigong for around twenty years and have taught in Berlin and online for many years. For about ten years I have been learning and deepening Calligraphy Health directly in the school of Master Zhen Hua Yang. You won't hear esoteric promises from me. What interests me is what happens in the body and what you can do with it yourself.
More about me
Common questions
No. The courses are built so you can start without any background. It's not about perfect movements. It's about understanding the basics at a calm pace.
You join a regular class session, at your own pace. Afterwards you decide, without hurry, whether the teaching style and format suit you. Asking doesn't commit you to anything.
The exercises are gentle and can be adapted. If you have health concerns, mention them to me beforehand and, if in doubt, check with your doctor whether the course is right for you.
A quiet spot, comfortable clothes and a device with internet. That's all. You don't need a mat, we practice mostly standing.
For the ZPP-certified courses, many German statutory insurers subsidize the fee, some cover it in full. The conditions are set by your insurer's own rules. Best to ask them briefly before the course starts.
Calligraphy Health is one continuous system with a clear structure, not a collection of individual exercises. Breathing, movement and attention work together. The method page explains what that looks like in practice.
